Mary Ann De Maio

Raritan- Mary Ann De Maio, entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 30, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was 84. Born in Jersey City, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Anna Vitale. Mary Ann lived for most of her life in Raritan where she and her husband built their home with their daughter, whom they loved very much! She worked for Ethicon in Bridgewater as a shop steward. Mary Ann loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great -grandmother. She loved cooking, avid reader of books and more important she loved her family. She had many talents and a great sense of wisdom when it came to anything related to the spiritual side of stones, crystals, holistic medicine, and healing. A communicant of St. Ann's Church in Raritan, Mary Ann had a very strong faith and prayed the rosary daily. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael A. DeMaio who died on May 16, 2013. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Deborah Ann Gecik and husband, Peter of Pittstown; 6 grandchildren, Louise De Franco, Lisa Ann Dettra and husband, Dan, Brittany Gecik, Dameon Gecik, Brendan Gecik, Shaun Gecik and wife, Tamara; 6 great-grandchildren, Grace Ann, Olivia, Destin, Jake, Mark and Brixton; sisters- in -law, Nancy (De Maio) Trippanera, Carol DeMaio and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 8:30 AM - 10:15 AM at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, N.J. 08807 followed by an 11 AM mass at St. Ann's Church in Raritan. Burial will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Bridgewater.
