Eileen Fagan Obituary

Eileen Lynch Fagan of Bridgewater, passed away at home on Monday, April 8, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. She was 98 years old.

Eileen was born on January 30, 1926, to Marguerite and John Lynch in Queens, NY. In her 98 years she lived through the Great Depression, World War II, 9/11, and Covid. She repeatedly confronted life’s challenges and obstacles and met them with resilience and grace. She traveled the world and spread her faith and love wherever she went.

Eileen was an inspiration to many and was a source of peace and comfort for countless people, especially her family. Perhaps her greatest accomplishment was her beautiful marriage of 59 years to her beloved Kenneth Fagan, and the family they created.

Eileen was a devoted mother to her loving sons, Kenneth, Jr., of Fairfax, VA, and John, of Bridgewater, her cherished daughters, Annemarie Caparella of Noblesville, Indiana, Elizabeth Maher and husband, William, of Milford, MA, and Marguerite Smith and husband, Edward, of Bridgewater, and grandmother to her 15 grandchildren, Matthew, Aileen, Katie, Kenneth III, Kelly, Mary-Elizabeth, Patrick, Meaghan, John Jr., Erin, Jacqueline, Eileen, Tara, Jillian, and Brendan, her 18 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Fagan was a communicant of St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church in Bridgewater for 50 years, where she served as a lector and Eucharistic minister, as well as a catechist. She was devout in her faith and dedicated to her parish community.

Throughout her life, it was her faith she turned to for guidance and support. Until the moment of her death, she strove always to grow closer to God and through Him, develop an ever deeper understanding of compassion for herself and others.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that any memorial donations or contributions be made in Eileen’s name to the Tunnel 2 Towers Foundation.

A 10AM memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at St. Bernards of Bridgewater.
