Raritan- Edward Dobrosky, 80, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 with his family by his side. Son of the late Michael and Mary Dobrosky, Ed was born in Manville and lived in South Bound Brook before moving to Raritan 46 years ago. He served in the United State Air Force between 1955-1959. He was a 1969 graduate of the NJ State Police Academy in Sea Girt.  Ed was a Police Officer with the Bridgewater Police Department for 27 years retiring in 1995 with the rank of Sergeant. Ed was a faithful communicant and Eucharistic Minister at St. Bernard Clairvaux Church and had a prison ministry where he brought Gospel to inmates. He was also a member of the Somerville Knight of Columbus Council 1432. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, and remembered as being a true family man. His greatest enjoyment was found when he was with his family and friends and especially his grandchildren. He looked forward to movie night with his grandchildren, camping, fishing, and watching “John Wayne” movies. He was an avid reader and car enthusiast. Ed leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 55 years, Joan (Menzak) Dobrosky of Raritan; children, Edward Dobrosky, Jr. and wife, Cathy of Manalapan, Michael Dobrosky and wife, Rosanne of Flemington, Jennifer Agins of Raritan; grandchildren, Christopher, Jesse, Ryan, Justin, Dylan, Kayla, Colin, Cory and Jake; and his brother, James Dobrosky and wife, Jackie of FL.  Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday, February 23, 2018 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayers will be said 9 AM on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the funeral home followed by a 10 AM Mass at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church in Bridgewater.
