Bridgewater - Robert R. Gada, 82, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Son of the late Frank and Anna Gada, Bob was born in Bridgewater and was a lifelong resident of the township. He served in the US Navy from 1960-1964 on the first nuclear powered surface warship, the USS Long Beach, and then went into the US Navy Reserves from 1964-1966. Bob was President of S.B.G. Insurance Corporation from 1968-1988, which joined Wharton Lyon & Lyon where he worked as Senior Vice President from 1988-2004 when he retired. He also served as President of the New Jersey Association of Health Underwriters and on the New Jersey Insurance Commissioner Advisory Board of Life and Health Insurance during his career. Bob was a faithful communicant and usher at St. Ann's Church in Raritan. In addition to his devotion to the church, Bob was a law enforcement volunteer Special Police Sergeant with the Bridgewater Township Police Department for twenty years. Bob is recognized by the Somerville Elks as a Lifetime Member and a volunteer of the Somerset Elks Children’s Center.

He is predeceased by his siblings, Frank Gada, Elizabeth Masterpeter; and granddaughter, Gina Gada.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 62 years, Rose (Bosetti) Gada; children, Robert Gada, Jr., Richard Gada (Linda), Jeffrey Gada (Craig), Christopher Gada (Maria); grandchildren, Brittany Gada, Robert Gada, III., Alyssa Gada, and Ryan Gada. Bob will be remembered for his strong love for his family and friends, as well as his giving nature for all.

Visiting hours will be held from 2-5PM on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E. Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayer service will begin at the funeral home on Monday, April 29 at 9AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Ann's Church in Raritan at 10AM.
