Zofia Kafara
Manville- Zofia Kafara, 90, died peacefully at home on Friday, February 5, 2021 with her family. Daughter of the late Pantaleon and Maria Szczudlik, Zofia was the youngest of seven children born in Sanok, Poland. Zofia immigrated to the US on March 23, 1972 where she settled in Manville. Zofia worked in housekeeping for Somerset Medical Center along with other jobs she held over the years. Moreover, she was a tremendous homemaker. She will always be remembered for her dedicated work she did gardening, cooking, making pierogies, being with her family and her devotion to Jesus. She was a faithful communicant of Christ the Redeemer Parish. Zofia is predeceased by her beloved husband, Wladyslaw Kafara who died in 2003, son, Joseph Kafara who died in 2020 and granddaughter, Madalyn M. Kafara who died in 2018. Zofia leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved children, Maria Radwanski, Helen "Donna" Siuta and husband, Emil, Antoni Kafara; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held from 5-9 PM on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayers will be said 8 AM on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the funeral home followed by a 9 AM Mass at Christ the Redeemer Parish (Sacred Heart Church) in Manville. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
