Xiyong Zhang 
October 13, 1938 – September 5, 2024 

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Xiyong Zhang, who peacefully departed this life on September 5, 2024, at the age of 85. Xiyong was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose warmth, wisdom, and dedication to his family will be forever cherished by those who knew him. 

Born on October 13, 1938, Xiyong lived a life full of passion. One of Xiyong's greatest joys was investing in the education and development of his children and grandchildren. He found immense pride in supporting their learning, always offering gentle guidance and encouragement as they pursued their dreams. His influence and care will continue to shape their lives in meaningful ways. He also found joy in woodworking. His hands were skilled and his heart was full of love, always putting family first. 

Xiyong is survived by his loving wife, Benling Gong; his children, Cathy G. Zheng, Yu Zhang, and Lei Zhang; his sons-in-law, Dongyun Zheng, Liezhong Gong; his daughter-in-law, Qingqiu Lu; and his grandchildren, Allen Zheng, Eddie Zheng, Cindy Zhang, Anna Zhang, Brian Zhang, Olivia Gong, and Vanessa Gong, who will continue to honor his legacy of kindness, patience, and caring. 

A visitation and service will be held from 9-11am, Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E. Main St., Bridgewater, NJ 08807 for close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to American Lung Association in his memory.
