William Leonard Roman
Born May 11, 1956 in New Brunswick, NJ to William Robert Roman and Victoria Barbara Roman (Kline), William was a lifelong resident of Bridgewater, NJ.
William was a graduate of Bridgewater High School East. He received an Associate Degree in HVAC from Somerset County VoTech, he then graduated from Thomas Edison State University with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
William was employed by divisions of Johnson & Johnson for over 35 years as an Analytic Chemist, developing and testing medical devices, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, and food technology.
In addition, he was a real estate investor that owned and maintained several properties in the area for many years.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1432, holding Past Grand Knight and State District Deputy positions, where he was involved coordinating several member and youth events as well as supporting the formation of Council 10627 in High Bridge, NJ. He was also a member of George Washington Assembly, 4th Degree #653.
Hobbies included working on cars, civil war history, model trains, and was the current treasurer for the J&J Eastern Region Retirees club.
Survived by his wife of 36 years, Virginia (Kurtz) Roman, four children; William and Jocelyn (Lum), John, Valerie and Keith (Espineira), and Holly, and five grandchildren (Ryan, Julia, Lindsey, Natalie, Jeremy).
Visiting hours will be held from 2-5 PM on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayers will be said 8:30 AM on Monday, December 6, 2021 at the funeral home followed by a 9:30 AM mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Bridgewater.
