Wanda Czarcinski

Wanda Czarcinski (Waszczak) 97, Bridgewater/Bound Brook, died peacefully on Wednesday January 18th at Bridgeway Rehabilitation Center in Bridgewater, NJ.

Wanda was born in Little Ferry, NJ, grew up in Bronx, NY and lived most of her life in Bound Brook, NJ.  Wanda was a communicant of St. Mary of Czestochowa parish in Bound Brook since 1953.  She was very active member of the parish and St. Mary Catholic School for over 60 years.  She served all offices of the PTA and various social clubs. She started the school library and Book Fairs for the upkeep of the school.  She was the CCD coordinator for 10 years and was a member of St Cecelia’s Choir and the Diocesan Choir.  She played the organ at St. Mary’s for many years at the 5:00 PM mass.  She worked in the parish office under Rev. Nowak and Msgr. Prus.  She was a member of the St. Mary Altar Rosary Society and held all positions and participated in all activities of the Society.  She was the chairperson of St. Mary’s Bingo for many years until it came to an end. She received the Medal of Regina Nostra from Bishop Vincent DePaul Breen.  Wanda remained active at St. Mary’s into her 90’s until she became homebound.

Wanda was predeceased by her husband Theodore in 1998 and her siblings Helen (Leona) Bruno, Walter Waring, Francis (Fanny) Gula, Bruno Waszczak, Edward Wasczak, and Stanley (Sharky) Wasczak.  She is survived by her children Theresa Czarcinski Ma., Dianne (Aldo) Barbieri NJ, Michael (Darlene) Czarcinski Tx., David (Ann) Czarcinski NJ, her grandchildren Kimberly Bezenek, Michael Robert Czarcinski, Kyle Czarcinski, Kara Virruso, and Kristi Czarcinski and her great grandchildren Gloria, Evelyn, Penelope, Jack and Teddy, as well as, many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held from 2-6 PM on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayers will be said 9AM on Monday, January 23, 2023 at he funeral home followed by a 10AM funeral mass at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church in Bound Brook. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway.
