Vincent Liscio
Bound Brook
Vincent Liscio 97, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Monday, January 13, 2025. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to Michael and Philomina (Sarno) Liscio. He was a graduate of Bound Brook High School where he played varsity football as a running back, and held the Somerset County record in Pole Vaulting. Vince enlisted in the U.S. Army, proudly serving as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division and often reflected on that experience. He was employed by Union Carbide Corp retiring after 37 years of service. He became an accomplished coppersmith and welder and retired as an Employee Relations Manager. Vince was a skilled craftsman and built many homes for his family and friends. And so it was no surprise that after his retirement he began Mavin Service Home Improvements with his brother Michael. He also generously donated his skills to the renovation project of the Bound Brook High School auditorium.
Vincent will always be remembered for his devotion to his family; for his passion for opera, inspired by his father and grandmother; and for his love of travel which he enjoyed with his wife and family. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Cynthia and Bill Mialki, granddaughters Christine Mialki and Kristen Pierce, great- granddaughter Tessa, sister Margaret Peterson, sisters-in-law Pauline Forktus and Yolanda Woldin, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Matilda, their daughter Deborah, his brother Carmine and wife Dorothy and his brother Michael and wife Sharon. Vince’s family is very grateful to Senior Helpers for their on-going support and especially to Evelyn Asare who provided him constant care with a kindness and dignity we will never forget.
Gathering with the family will be on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 3-6PM at Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 Main Street, Bridgewater. The funeral service will be 10AM on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Bound Brook Cemetery.
For those who wish, memorial donations can be made to the Veterans Medical Center, Lyons, NJ.
