Many of us find ourselves planning and worrying about tomorrow, so much so, that we actually wind up neglecting today. If you look up and see a rainbow, most people focus on capturing it in photos or videos to share afterwards on social media. You see the rainbow through the screen of a phone – worrying about cropping or photo filters or a clever saying to post with it. There was a beautiful sight in front of you, but unseen with your own eyes. Your focus was on the future, but the actual moment in the present was missed. Yes, there will be other rainbows… but that rainbow, that moment has passed you by.
Tommy didn’t live like that. Without a doubt, he lived fully in the present. We didn’t realize how much we truly admired that quality in him until now. It brings us so much comfort knowing that living in the moment let Tommy make the absolute most of his short time with us.
