Theresa Goodis Obituary

Theresa C. Goodis

Bridgewater – Theresa C. Goodis, 93, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Bridgeway Care in Hillsborough, NJ. Theresa was born to the late Joseph and Frances (Juwa) Dudek in South Jamacia, NY, she attended St. Joseph’s Grammar School. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School as Class President. While working at Skouras Theater she met her future husband, Kenneth. They married on June 2, 1951, and resided in Richmond Hill, NY sharing the house with her parents until The Goodis’ moved to Foothill Rd., Bridgewater, NJ in April 1971. Two years later, her parents came to stay with her until their passing. Terry became active in Bridgewater as Secretary of The Woman’s Bowling League, and communicant and member of the Alter Rosary Society with Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville, NJ. She also enjoyed playing tennis and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Terry and Ken enjoyed entertaining as well as traveling with family and numerous good friends over the years.

Terry and Ken retired down to Cape May in 1986 where they embraced the Southern Jersey Shore attitude.

Terry became a NJ Certified Home Health Aide and worked for many years for Holy Redeemer. Terry also became a very active member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Cape May as a Eucharistic Minister. While down there she loved the beach, going out on the water and always walking the Cape May Boardwalk.

Eventually, Terry couldn’t stay in Cape May any longer by herself, so her sons moved her back up to the Bridgewater area where she

resided until the world couldn’t give anything else to Theresa that she already didn’t cherish.

Terry was a dedicated loving wife, daughter, sister to many, mother, grandmother and friend to whomever came into her circle, and she will be loved by many and missed by all.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Kenneth S. Goodis, siblings, Joseph and his wife, Jeanette, John Earnest, Charlotte, and Edward, Raymond and his wife, Constance and Sophie and her husband Jerry, and her favorite uncle, Joseph Juwa of Poland.

Terry leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving sons, Kenneth (Janice) Goodis and Glenn Raymond (Kathy) Goodis, grandchildren, Kimberly, Kenny Thomas (Catherine) and Lori, great grandchildren, Vicky, Lia, Kenny G. and twelve loving nieces and nephews and numerous extended family members.
