Theodor L. Maurer

Theodor L. Maurer, 95, of Bridgewater, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 17, 2023. Ted was born August 15, 1928 to August and Thekla Maurer in Germany.  

He immigrated to the U.S. in 1955 and shortly thereafter met the love of his life, Marie Sorrentino. Ted and Marie married September 23, 1956 and ultimately settled in Deer Park, NY where they raised their family.

Early in his career Ted was a talented hairdresser. He later became a devoted minister in the New Apostolic Church where he served for nearly 40 years and left a lasting impact on so many. He was a man of great faith. Positive as they come, loyal and hardworking. He had a tremendous presence and always managed to light up a room. 

Ted loved his family dearly. Marie was his best friend and true partner, they were blessed with a 66 year marriage. He loved spending time with his family including his 3 sons and 4 grandchildren, who brought him great joy.

He is survived by his wife, Marie as well as his sons Philip Maurer, Mark (Anabela) Maurer and John (Kim) Maurer and grandchildren Michael (Andrea) Maurer, Megan Maurer, Matthew Maurer and Luke Maurer. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends whom he cherished deeply.
