Susan B. Fletcher

Susan B. Fletcher (née Metch), 61 passed away at Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater, NJ on Saturday, November 23, 2024.

Sue was born in Somerville and lived in Annadale, NJ the last four years of her life. She was an LPN working for various institutions throughout her career including Somerset Medical Center, Hunterdon Medical Center, Parker Home and Bridgeway Care Center. Sue was always a creative and artistic person. She enjoyed whittling, ceramics, drawing and adult coloring books in her later years. She was an excellent cook and cake decorator. Sue loved animals and nature.

Sue had a gift of always being able to bring a smile or laugh to others. She was always humble and kind. Her humor, kindness and friendship will be missed by many.

Sue is survived by her mother Carol S. Metch. Her daughter, Elissa Markey (James) and son Kyle Fletcher (Katie). She was blessed with six grandchildren who she loved dearly, Sophia, Sonny, Mila, Isabella, Madeline and Olivia.

She is also survived by her siblings Deborah Smith, Maryellen Stamets (James), David Metch (Jennifer), and Carolyn Vadimski (Edward). She was a wonderful Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Sue was predeceased by her father, David H. Metch.

The family would like extend their heartfelt appreciation to Christine Ziegler, RN and the East Wing staff at Bridgeway Care Center along with Dove Hospice for their dedication , care and compassion for Sue during her short stay at Bridgeway.

Thank you also to the Pennyfeather family for welcoming Sue’s beloved cats Fletch and Emma into their home.

They must be felt with the heart.”  Thank you, Sue for making the world a little better through your love and kindness. You will truly live on in the hearts and actions of all who your life has touched.

Visiting hours will be held from 3-7PM on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E. Main St., Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Funeral services will be held at 10AM, Monday, December 2, 2024 at the funeral home, followed by entombment at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater, NJ.
