Ronald Maas Obituary

Ronald Jay Maas, eldest son of Gerrit Maas Jr. and (Mary) Jeannette (McClory) Maas passed away peacefully on May 19th, 2026 in Bridgewater, NJ. Born in 1946, Ron grew up in Waldwick, NJ and graduated from Drew University in 1968. He attended Syracuse University School of Law for one semester and was drafted into the Army. He served 22 months in the 756th US Army Military Police Battalion at Fort Dix, NJ. Upon discharge he returned to Syracuse and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a JD in May of 1972.

Ronald worked as an attorney for several practices over the years, including being the general counsel for Weichert Realtors. While not working, Ronald enjoyed playing golf and watching sports, with the NY Yankees, Giants, Rangers and Knicks being his favorites.

Ronald is survived by his daughter Melissa Alvarez (Maas), son-in-law Dennis Alvarez, grandsons Quinn and Riley Alvarez, his brother Dennis Maas, sister-in-law Debbie Maas, ex-wife Constance Cordova, ex-wife Nancy Maas, and stepdaughters Jennifer Anderson, son-in-law Glenn Anderson, grand-daughters Aleigh and Katie and Carrie Moore, son-in-law Joseph Moore and grand-daughters Grace, Mairin, and Brooke. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and sister Linda Walsh.

A memorial visitation will be held from 10-12 noon, on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E. Main St., Bridgewater, NJ 08807and will conclude with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Diabetes Association in Ronald’s honor are appreciated.
