Robert "Fuzzy" Stryker, 84
Bridgewater, NJ – Robert  "Fuzzy" Stryker, 84, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at RWJUH in New Brunswick. Born in New Brunswick, NJ, he was the son of the late Raymond E. and Evelyn L. Stryker. A lifelong resident of Bridgewater, Fuzzy graduated from Bound Brook High School in 1958 and remained deeply connected to his community throughout his life.

After high school, Fuzzy proudly served in the U.S. National Guard, demonstrating his commitment to his country. Following his service, he embarked on a successful career as a self-employed painting contractor, a profession he dedicated himself to for over 55 years. His work ethic, craftsmanship, and attention to detail earned him a reputation as a reliable and trusted professional in the local area. He was known for his friendly, easygoing nature, which earned him the nickname "Fuzzy," a name that stuck with him throughout his life and was embraced by all who knew him.

Fuzzy’s family was always at the center of his life. He shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Joan (Jelliffe) Stryker, with whom he built a life filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. Together, they raised three children: Todd R. Stryker (Dave Walsh), Kelly S. Joseph (Chris), and Scott A. Stryker (Kristen).

His legacy continues through his five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, who brought him great joy and pride. Fuzzy also leaves behind his brother, Gene Stryker. He was predeceased by his sister, Beverly Atfield.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E. Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
