Richard J. Brown

Bridgewater – Richard J. Brown, 74, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024 at RWJ of Somerset in Somerville, NJ. Richard was born in Providence, RI to the late John and Mildred Brown and resided in Rhode Island for many years before moving to Bridgewater, NJ. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bryant College in Smithfield, RI. Richard began his career employed by New England Telephone and later for Bell Telephone, where he retired in 2005. In his retirement years, he was a consultant for Bank of New York and later Novartis. In his spare time, Richard absolutely loved vacation to Aruba. He will be greatly missed by beloved and family and cherished friends.

Richard leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving siblings, Janice Thurston of Wake Forest, NC and Donald Brown of Warwick, RI, many loved nieces, nephews, dear friends, great nieces and nephews, and a great-great grandniece. 

Visiting hours will be held from 10-12noon, Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807 with a prayer service at 11:30am.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Rhode Island in Richard’s honor.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to, Duke Center for Eating Disorders, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of your choice.
