Poonam Vavila – Poonam (Kapoor) Vavila of Bridgewater, NJ, formerly of Kolkata, India, age 53, unexpectedly left us March 16, 2022. Wife of Raghu Vavila; dear mother of Aryan Vavila and the puppy Coco, daughter of Krishna and Pran Nath Kapoor, sister of Lekhraj Kapoor, Neelam Kapoor, Dimple Malhotra, and Rishi Kapoor; also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews; including Sunita Kapoor, Wamika & Ayush, Ratish, Avishek, Simple & Anon, and Aviral, Katera & Veda Kapoor, and many, many friends. Poonam was our golden thread. She selflessly wove together family and friends into a constant state of comfort, compassion, and inspiration. She never thought about herself and her own irreplaceable place in the tapestry of our lives. Poonam had an unshakable ambition to learn and grow. She was a mentor to many and asked nothing in return. She truly enjoyed the act of supporting others in their personal or professional growth. She viewed work as a privilege and touched the lives of thousands of people through her multiple vocations. She was a believer that ones’ joy should come from within, and spreading loving kindness was second nature to her. Poonam was an adventurous and visionary soul. Poonam knit her family and friends together into the beautiful design that was her life. And although the stitching has paused to the external eye, her singular golden thread carries on in all of us, glistening every time we learn, grow, give back, and smile.
