Patricia Moyer Obituary

Patricia “Pat” Moyer (Miller), 86, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord passed away on November 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Newark, NJ, on October 28, 1939, to George and Anna Miller, Pat grew up first in Newark and later in Edison. As the oldest of seven children, she spent many years helping her mother care for her younger siblings and working in the Italian restaurant, Mom’s in Edison. It was at Mom’s she met and fell in love with Alfred Moyer, Jr. of Iselin. They married in 1962, and in 1964 moved to Bridgewater, where Pat joyfully made her home for the rest of her life.

Pat’s greatest joy came from helping others and serving Christ in countless ways. She dedicated her life to raising her four daughters, fostering teens, and opening her home to many cherished pets. A devoted member of Bradley Gardens Reformed Church, Pat served as a Sunday School teacher, participated in the Women’s Guild, and faithfully served as both a Deacon and an Elder on the church consistory. She loved spending time preparing beloved dishes, pies and soups for church events, friends, family and the Samaritan Homeless Interim Program (SHIP). One of her deepest joys was singing in the church choir and playing in the bell choir, where she shared her voice and talent for many, many years. Pat loved music of all kinds, especially worship music, and found great comfort in it.

In addition to raising their own children, Pat and Al were guided toward a life of service by fostering and caring for five foster daughters over several years. In 1988, feeling called to serve others even more deeply, Pat became a licensed practical nurse and spent time caring for patients in Bridgewater before retiring. Stories from her nursing days were beloved by everyone, especially her most recent nurses, who enjoyed hearing them even during her final hospital stay. She also treasured her time down the Jersey Shore, particularly family vacations in Ocean City, where she found both peace and joy. In her retirement Pat discovered a love for watercolor painting and spent hours painting, chatting and drinking tea with her lifelong friend and next-door neighbor.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Carol and Terri. She is survived by her devoted husband of more than 63 years, Al Moyer and their daughters Nancy Atwater, Bonnie Ciuffetelli (Vinnie), Suzanne Singer (Larry), and Amy Moyer. She is also survived by beloved grandchildren Patrick (Hayley), Katie and Brian Atwater; Nick and Blake Ciuffetelli; Kayla, Alyssa, and Colin Singer—and her great-grandson, Oliver Atwater. Pat leaves behind her brothers Georgie (Shirley) and Michael (Rosanne) Miller, sisters Suzanne Ricca and Cindy (Gene) Urbanik, as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, her cherished church community and her dog, Finley.

A celebration of Pat’s life and repass immediately following will be held on Saturday, December 13th at Bradley Gardens Reformed Church in Bridgewater at 2PM. If in your heart, memorial contributions can be made to Bradley Gardens Reformed Church, 124 Old York Rd., Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
