Hillsborough – Patricia A. Casabona, 86, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at The Delaney Assisted Living in Bridgewater. Patricia was born in Jersey City, NJ to the late Henry and Catherine Zeiske. She grew up in Fairview, NJ and attended Cliffside Park High School. After graduating from high school, Patricia was employed for IBM in New York City, then in 1960 married her loving husband, Lewis Casabona, and they settled in Fairfield, NJ to start a family. While raising her three children, Patricia attended William Paterson College and earned a degree in Elementary Education and taught 3rd grade in the Pequannock School District.  Patricia eventually attended Chubb Institute to pursue a degree in computer programming. She worked at  the United Parcel Service in Paramus until her retirement.

For many years, Patricia was an active member of the Caldwell Junior Woman’s Club and the American Association of University Women (AAUW). She enjoyed traveling, the beach and was an avid reader.

Patricia and Lewis spent most of their retirement years split between Forked River, NJ and Marco Island, FL. Eventually they settled in Hillsborough, NJ to be closer to their children. They were married for 58 years until Lewis’ passing in 2018 on their 58th wedding anniversary.

Patricia is survived by her children; Scott Casabona (Anna) of Montclair NJ, Gregory Casabona (Kathleen) of Doylestown, PA, Lisa Saponara (Stephen) of Ringoes, NJ. She also leaves behind her 8 grandchildren; Michael, Jessica, Lauren, Matthew, Mark, Rebecca, Julia, and Lewis. 

Visiting hours will be held from 2-4PM & 7-9PM, on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Funeral services will be held at 10AM, on Thursday, August 11, 2022. Burial will follow at New Cemetery, Somerville, NJ.
