Somerset- Otilia Nieto, 90, died peacefully at her  home on Monday, March 7, 2022 in Somerset, NJ surrounded by her family. Otilia was born in Picouto Ramiranes, Spain to the late Nicanor and Marina Estevez.  She immigrated to the United States in 1942 and lived in Kearny and the Iron Bound section of Newark for many years. She held residence in both Hutchinson Island, FL and Canal Walk in Somerset, NJ. For many years, she worked as a seamstress in Newark and Irvington. In her spare time she enjoyed, cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Otilia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Pedro Nieto on March 19, 2019. She is survived by her loving children, Maria Nieto Zezas and husband, Dionysius, and Peter Nieto and wife, Carol Ann; grandchildren, Andrea Marie Burkey and husband, Todd, Michael Dennis Zezas and wife, Jennifer, Brandon Peter Nieto, and Zachary John Nieto, great-grandchildren, Madeline Lia Burkey, Blythe Marie Zezas, Maximilian Peter Burkey, and Audrey June Zezas; and sister, Emilia Estevez Henel and husband, Rolf of Wayne, NJ.

Visiting hours will be held from 4-8 PM on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayers will be said at 9AM, Friday, March 11, 2022 at the funeral home followed by a 10AM funeral mass at St. Joseph Church, 34 Yorktown Road, Hillsborough, NJ 08844. Entombment will be at Hollywood Memorial Park, 1500 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union, NJ 07083.
