Bridgewater- Nicholas James Pappas, 61, died peacefully at home, on Monday, May 29, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Nick grew up in Lodi, NJ where he attended Our Lady of Mount Virgin Grammar School, Paramus Catholic High School and later earned a degree from Seton Hall University. After graduating he pursued a career in the transportation and importing and exporting industry, starting out as a Customer Service Representative, but quickly moved into a Sales position where he continued to move up the ranks within different organizations through the years.
Above everything, Nick loved his family fiercely, they always came first in his life, his daughters were everything to him, and the greatest gift of his life. He was an amazing father who never missed one of their many sporting events, he loved watching them swim, play soccer and basketball, lacrosse, softball and field hockey and attended every dance recital throughout their childhood.
Nick was a huge sports fan, he loved the NY Mets, Indianapolis Colts, but most of all the NY Islanders.
He loved good food, an exceptional glass of red wine, and a well aged cigar. He loved to travel, and spend time at the shore and on the beach. He loved to cook, mostly Italian food, and always insisted everything was made fresh and “the day of”.
Anyone who knew Nick knows that he had the biggest heart and was the most giving person.
Nick leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Loretta Pappas; children, Amanda Nicole Pappas, Alexa Rose Pappas; parents, James and June Pappas; sisters, Lynn Toledo and husband, Michael, Lisa Marzocco and husband, Frank; nephews, Jacen and Jared Marzocco.
Visitation will be held from 2-4PM & 7-9PM on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E. Main St., Bridgewater, NJ 08807. A funeral mass will be held at 10AM, Friday, June 2, 2023 at St. Bernard Church in Bridgewater. Burial will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ.
