Nicholas Iosue Obituary

On the morning of July 16th, 2024 Nicholas Angelo Iosue passed away peacefully due to natural causes at Abington Manor Memory Center in PA.   Nick was 76 years old.

Nick was born to Nicholas and Hazel (Amon) in 1947 and grew up on Staten Island, NY.  After graduating Port Richmond High School, Nick enlisted in the Air Force where he served his country from 1967 to 1971 and he was honorably discharged at the rank of Sargeant.  During this same period Nick married the love of his life, Maureen (Williams) in 1970.

Shortly after, Nick and Maureen had three boys (Scott, Glenn and Nicholas) then eventually moved to New Jersey.  Despite having a full-time job for the City of New York, being a dedicated husband and father, Nick attended night classes at the City College of New York where he eventually earned a B.S. in Economics.

After a long career and promotions, Nick ultimately retired in 1985 as an officer of the New York City Sanitation Dept.  Nick enjoyed his well-earned retirement by traveling with Maureen throughout the globe.  Just when they were getting settled back from one adventure, they were off to yet another amazing journey.  One favorite destination that stood out the most was Florida, where they enjoyed many warm winters and beautiful sunsets.

In addition to being known as a world traveler, Nick was known as a extremely selfless man.  Nick was always genuine when he asked how you and/or your family were doing.  Nick was always someone willing to help. Whether it was to lend a seemingly endless number of tools or simply “lend a hand”, he put others first.

Nick was predeceased by his sister Jane and his brother Merton.  Nick is survived by his loving wife Maureen, three amazingly good looking sons, brothers Carmine and Ken, and five cherished grandchildren.

His “celebration of life” will be held on August 1st, 2024 from the hours of 3pm – 7pm at the:
