Navin Jarecha

“Death is only a change of address”, Dada would say. On February 17, 2022, 8:13AM, Navin Mafatlal Jarecha passed away at 83 years of age at Robert Wood Johnson New Brunswick Hospital with family by his side with his care team. His soul is still here with us, nevertheless. He always honed in on the concept that death is no different than someone simply departing from life forever, simply into another place away from Earth again. He would always repeat this line to me and my family with the aim of comforting us and preparing us for any case of death we may experience, especially his. As much as I didn’t wish to talk about it, he reiterated that everyone and everything has an end, no matter the effort we pour into it. The effort still matters, as that is how fruitful our lives and passions become, and an end will be reached at some point regardless of any other factors. He always spoke so highly of his hometown Patan and shared his journey of coming to the US to pursue his education and career. He achieved his MBA, serving as operations manager at the textile company Franco, and also guided us with our main family business. He is forever a wise and thoughtful soul, and we can all see that within his photography and warm aura. The attention to detail and appreciation for the picture as a whole, down to the colors and branches of trees, showed how soulful he kept himself throughout his life.

He always said a loved one was, “the walking stick beneath his wings”, even when he didn’t need one at all. He did such a remarkable job walking on his own and improving at his own speed and agility throughout his days and recovery periods. Now, Dada is the air and cane beneath our wings, guiding all of us, better in our lives moving forward. We love you, Dada.
