Nanci Curtis Dolgos, 85, of Bridgewater, died peacefully at home on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025. She was born in Somerville at Somerset Medical Center and while she grew up in Middlesex, she has resided in Bridgewater for the past 56 years. Nanci was a graduate of Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. She worked as an Executive Secretary for Sports Illustrated in New York City and later for Ortho Pharmaceuticals in Raritan.
While working in New York Nanci caught the eye of Marty Dolgos one day when they were on the bus together. He had been an upper classman at Bound Brook High School where they both attended. He got in touch with her for a date and they were later married for 51 years. They had a love of the shore and spent many happy days together on Long Beach Island.
After raising her children, Nanci became involved with two Greyhound rescue groups. Nanci and Marty fostered 65 greyhounds over a 10-year period. That volunteer effort led her to a job as a surgical tech for Edgebrook Veterinary in East Brunswick, which she did for 10 years or more.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Paul Derderian of Bridgewater and her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Staci Dolgos of Monument, Colorado, and four grandchildren, Katherine, Sara, Ryan, and Delaney.
