Bedminster- Mitchell Patino, 89, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mitch was the son of the late Dominick and Blanche Patino. Mitch moved to NJ in 1979 and lived in Somerville before moving to Bedminster 25 years ago. Mitch worked for the NYC Department of Corrections at Rikers Island retiring after 20 years of service. He then worked at the  Somerset County’s Prosecutor Office retiring as a Lieutenant in 1996. Mitch was an inspiration to many; he joined the Far Hills- Bedminster Fire Department later in life and selflessly gave himself as a first responder and he also participated in the 911 clean-up. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothea who died in 1987 and his son, Michael who died in 1982. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved children, Annette Marsh and husband, Jim of Whitehouse Station, Anthony Patino of Brentwood, CA; grandchildren, Michael Marsh, Christine Marsh and Matthew Patino-Marsh. Visiting hours will be held from 12-3 on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Entombment will take place, 11AM on Monday, December 21, 2020 at St. John’s Cloister Mausoleum, 80-01 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village, NY 11379. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Far Hills- Bedminster Fire Department.
