Middlesex - Michael Charles Bank, 80, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024 at RWJ 

Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.  Mike, also known to family and close friends as “Butchie,” was born in Somerville, NJ to the late Michael F. and Gladys Bank. He was raised in the Finderne section of Bridgewater and was a graduate of Somerville High School. Four years later, Mike graduated from Rider College and shortly after met his future wife Diane while teaching alongside her in the same school district. Married in 1967, they settled in Middlesex Boro where they raised their family and resided for nearly 50 years.

As a young couple, Mike and Diane enjoyed car rallies, and drove their way through an impressive string of automobiles. They enjoyed family Sunday drives and were always happy to find a flea market to explore. Mike eventually took over the family business from his father, running Bank’s Package Liquor Store in Finderne. He enjoyed several decades there of chatting it up with his regular customers. After selling the store just before the turn of the century, Mike then spent time working various jobs to occupy his time and make sure his family had everything they needed.  When not working, he enjoyed spending time with Diane and their children at their lake house.

Mike is predeceased by his loving wife, Diane, who passed in 2017, his sister, Judith Corbin and his parents. He is survived by his three children: son, Michael J., his wife, Laura and daughter, Alice; son Gregory C., his wife, Tracy and their children – Madeline and Charles; and daughter, Sarah L. and her husband, Robert Martin and their children – Ryan and Molly. 

Mike will be greatly missed by his family and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. 

Private services will be held under the direction of Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
