Obituary for Matthew Schauers (June 27th, 2008 – June 4th, 2024):

Matthew Yorke Schauers, 15, of Bridgewater, NJ passed away at his home on June 4th, 2024. Matthew was born on June 27th, 2008, in Little Rock, AR, and was a sophomore at Shepard Preparatory High School in Morristown, NJ.

Matthew was a loving & intellectually curious child. He was a critical thinker who strived to understand the world around him no matter how vast the topic. Matthew loved the outdoors and enjoyed skiing and going on long walks & hikes, especially in the rain and snow. He liked riding his bicycle and spending time at the beach swimming in the ocean with his friends and family. Matthew also enjoyed online gaming and excelled at all things Roblox.

Matthew is survived by his mother, Emily Yorke & stepfather, Scott Townley; father, John Schauers & stepmother, Lori Schauers. He is also survived by his brother, Andrew Schauers; stepbrothers Ketcher Smith, Nicholas Townley; stepsister, Riley Smith, and his grandparents Edward & Helen Yorke.

A memorial viewing will be held from 5 pm to 8 pm on Monday, June 10th, 2024, at the Bridgewater Funeral Home at 707 Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ, 08807.

Matthew will be deeply missed by all who knew & loved him.
