Matthew Portnoy, born November 24, 1988, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. A dedicated and passionate chef, Matthew graduated from the International Culinary Center in downtown NYC and built a fulfilling career working at various esteemed restaurants. He also served as a chef and store trainer at Whole Foods, where his expertise and warm spirit touched many.
Matthew was a loving and caring man, a devoted husband to his wife Lauren Souffront, and proud father to their beloved baby girl, Elliana Portnoy . He is also remembered fondly by Daisy, the family puppy, and Malo and Sunshine, the beloved family cats. He is survived by his Father, Jeffrey Portnoy; Stepmother, Diane Raabe; Mother, Elizabeth Rogers; Aunt, Andra Portnoy; Uncle, Richard Portnoy; Mother-in-law, Barbara Souffront; Father-in-law, Santos Souffront; and Brother-in-law, Jason Souffront along with many loving friends.
Known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for those around him, Matthew’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He was a wonderful husband and an irreplaceable presence in the lives of his family and friends.
A celebration of Matthew’s life will be held to honor his legacy of love and dedication.
