Bridgewater- Mary J. Veglatte, 93, died peacefully on Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater. Daughter of the late William and Jennie Polon, Mary was born in North Plainfield and lived there for most of her life before moving to Ridge Oak in Basking Ridge in 2005, and  lastly, to Bridgeway in Bridgewater. She worked for Qualco Products in Plainfield retiring in 2003. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas D. Veglatte in 2011; siblings, Ruth Cass, and Bill Polon; and son-in-law, Stephen Rome. She is survived by her children, Janet Rome, William Veglatte and wife Alice; grandchildren, Kelly Bongard and husband John, Brian Rome, Susan Righetti and husband Peter, Joseph Veglatte and wife Toni, Christine Veglatte; great-grandchildren, James, Brianna, Madeline, Nicholas, Blake, Tray, Abby and Ellie; and sister-in-law, Pat Polon. Visiting hours will be held from 9-11AM on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 followed by an 11 AM funeral service at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E. Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater.
