Mark Beckley Obituary

Mark George Beckley

Bridgewater- Mark George Beckley, 44, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 25, 2022 at home in Bridgewater. Born in Somerville, He grew up in Bound Brook and was a 1996 graduate of Bound Brook High School. He then received his BS from Rowan University in 2000. Mark was a manager for Russell Cellular in Linden. He is predeceased by his father, George Beckley in 1998 and also both his paternal and maternal grandparents. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved mother, Nancy Beckley; siblings, Bryan S. Beckley of Bound Brook, Jill E. Gleeson and husband, Daniel of Hillsborough, nephews, Danny and Cameron; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Family always came first to Mark, which was something instilled in him from his father at a young age. He was the strength of the Beckley family and being together whether it was a holiday, birthday or average weeknight dinner was what Mark enjoyed the most.   He was Nancy’s pride and joy and had a special bond with Bryan and Jill that will never be broken.  Nothing brought Mark more pleasure than watching his nephews play sports.  You could always find him in the bleachers with his devoted brother-in-law, Danny. Mark followed his nephews no matter how near or far their games were.

Mark was known by all who knew him to be a true genuine friend who had a heart of gold and would do anything for you.  He was the true definition of an athlete, whose hardwork and dedication was one of his most admirable traits. He grew up on the baseball diamond and continued his love of playing baseball through his college years pitching at Rowan University.  He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and also loved to golf and play in an adult softball league with many of his lifelong friends.

Mark’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.
