Bound Brook- Maria C. Galati, 86, died on Thursday, January 26, 2023. Daughter of the late Giovanni and Carmella DiRenzo, Maria was born in Vibo Valentia, Italy. She immigrated to the United States in 1963, lived in Newark for 10 years, and then settled in Bound Brook, where she and her husband owned and operated the Sanitary Bakery and Brook Bakery in Bound Brook. Maria was a loving mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Nicola Galati in 1996, and daughter, Anna Maria Diefenbacher in 2001. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved children, Antonio Galati and wife Kathy of Bound Brook, Giovanni Galati and wife Melissa of Middlesex; grandchildren, Jenna, Nicole, Marissa, Nicholas, Jake, Mia, Johnny and Jax; brother, Joseph DiRenzo and wife, Silvana of East Hanover; and son-in-law, Joseph Diefenbacher of Middlesex. Visiting hours will be held from 9-11AM with a funeral service beginning at 11AM on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Bridgewater.
