Margaret Peggy Stonehouse, age 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at RWJ Hospital in Somerville, New Jersey.
Born on September 23, 1946, in Boston, Massachusetts to John and Helen (Curley) Lynch, Peggy built a life rooted in love and community. In 1964, she married Gerald F. Stonehouse, and together they shared 61 years of marriage. They made their home in Hingham, Massachusetts for over five decades.
Peggy was a devoted homemaker and also worked as a realtor. She had a gift for connecting with others and formed lasting friendships throughout her life. She found joy in cooking, decorating, entertaining, and especially spending time with her grandchildren-one granddaughter and six grandsons-who brought her immense happiness.
Her interests were wide-ranging and included tennis, skiing, drawing, and volunteering with a prison ministry. Peggy's warmth extended to her large family and many friends. She is remembered fondly by her son, two daughters, six siblings, numerous nieces and nephews, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A family graveside service will be held in Bound Brook, New Jersey to celebrate Peggy's life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse, an organization close to Peggy's heart.
May she rest in peace with her personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E. Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
