Lois Theile Obituary

Lois Romine Theile, age 96, of Bridgewater NJ passed away peacefully at home on June 24, 2022.  Lois was born in Livingston, NJ on December 19, 1925 to Margaret Karig and Leslie Romine, in the home she resided for 90 years.

Lois was predeceased by her husband Carl of 66 years, and her sister June Crosby in 2010.

She was the owner/operator of Falkenturm Kennels in Livingston for 60 years, and was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and the Eastern Star.

Lois was an animal lover who continued to care for many dogs after their owners abandoned them at the kennel.  She played softball in the Livingston women’s rec program with her daughters each summer, and bowled on the Saint Peter’s Church league for many years.  Lois enjoyed riding her horses on trails that are now Rt. 280.  Lois loved ice-skating, music, dancing with her husband, and enjoyed traveling with her husband on trips sponsored by the Shriners.  Christmas was her favorite holiday, for which she displayed a tree in every room of her home. She cherished the time spent with family and adored her great-grandchildren.

Lois is survived by her daughters Leslie DeSoto (Ron) of Blairstown, and Pat Chase (Craig) of Easton PA, four grandchildren; Heather Polonyi (Joe) of Bridgewater with whom she lived, Courtney Harris (Chris) of Victor NY, Clint DeSoto (Kristin) of Easton CT, and Morgan Kelly (Mike) of Easton PA.  Also surviving are eight great-grandchildren; Preston and Scarlet Polonyi, Abby and Jack Harris, Harrison DeSoto and Grace, Karoline and Carl Kelly.

Donations may be made to a local animal shelter in Lois’ memory.

Private funeral services were handled under the direction of the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
