Lena Dlugosz Obituary
Lena Josephine Dlugosz, 87, of 13718 Royal Road, Hagerstown MD, passed away,
Sunday, October 17, 2010, at Loyalton of Hagerstown.
Born Wednesday, June 27, 1923, in Roccabascerana, Italy, she was the
daughter of the late Attilio Miranda and the late Rose Perone Miranda. She
was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Casimir Bannell Dlugosz in
May of this year.
She was a graduate of Bound Brook High School in Bound Brook, NJ. After
relocating in Hagerstown, Maryland she was employed with the Washington
County Health Department retiring after many years of service. She was a
member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Sunshine Leisure Club, Mack Truck Golden
Bulldogs, Morris Frock American Legion Unit 42 and the Knights of Columbus
Auxiliary. Later in years Lena enjoyed traveling, cooking Italian food and
spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Victoria Snyder & husband Joel of
Frederick, MD; grandson, Timothy Snyder of Frederick, MD; two sisters, Sue
Cirello, and Eleanor DeFalco, both of FL; one brother, Neil Miranda, of NJ.
Services will be held Friday, October 22, 2010, at 10:00 AM, at the Church
of the Blessed Sacrament in Martinsville, NJ with Msgr. Eugene Prus
officiating.
Family will receive friends at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331
Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday,
October 19. and on Thursday October 21, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the
Bridgewater Funeral Home 707 Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ.
Interment will be in the Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway, NJ.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington
County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742 or the Alzheimer's
Association of Western Maryland, 5 Public Square, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
