Larry David Moore passed away on the afternoon of October 16, 2021 in High Bridge, NJ.
Larry was born on January 16, 1956 in Brooklyn, NY to Robert and Eleanor Moore. He and his two older siblings, Patricia and Norman, grew up the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bay Ridge.
In 1978, Larry graduated St. Johns University, and then Pace University with an MBA, to embark upon a successful career as a CPA and Financial Adviser. After graduation, Larry relocated to Pittsburgh, Connecticut, and finally resided in New Jersey for the last 34 years. In 1989 and 1994, Larry welcomed his daughters Lauren and Jennifer respectively into the world. In 2012, Larry and Leigh began their journey as husband and wife, and he became stepfather to Sierra and Suzannah. Larry loved his son-in-law Mark and became a very proud grandfather to Anthony in 2019 and to Ava in 2021.
Larry was an extremely hardworking man, utterly motivated by his desire to provide his daughters with the greatest and most loving upbringing he could provide. While highly professional and respected in the business world, Larry let his extremely goofy side shine around those he loved. He was always giggling and joking around with the people closest to him. Larry was one of the greatest dads around; father-daughter bowling leagues, kitchen food fights, and late-night rounds of tag were only a few of the ways he loved to entertain his little girls. He even found his “claim to fame” as a Dancing Dad just to get up on stage with his daughters, and then to never let anyone forget about it. Larry took great pride in his corny, albeit outrageously clever “dad jokes.” Larry found happiness with Leigh and they became partners not only in life but also worked side by side in their professional life. He never missed an opportunity to escape to a tropical paradise, as relaxing at the pool in 80-degree weather with his sister, loved ones, and friends was his happiest place. In his final months, Larry emersed himself in his favorite sport and enjoyed running around the state as a baseball umpire.
Larry was a very loved man with a huge heart. He was a proud father, husband, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend and always cared about those around him.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 22 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home from 12-4pm for those wishing to celebrate his life. Larry’s family greatly appreciates all condolences and requests donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.
