On December 21, 2015 at 9 PM, Julie H. Erb slipped peacefully into her Eternal Sleep, surrounded by her loving children.  She was met in the afterworld by her husband, Joseph E Erb, who had preceded her in death in 1986.

 

She was born in Worcester Mass to John F Hanavan and Lillian R Hanavan on November 1923.  She lived most of her childhood in Westboro Massachusetts.  After graduating High School, and seeing many of her classmates ship off to fight in WWII, she enrolled and graduated from Worcester Hahnmann Hospital.  She spent her Senior Period at the VA Hospital in Lyons, NJ at which time she was inducted as a member of the US Cadet Nurse Corp, as an RN.  At that same time, she met her future husband Joseph Erb. She retired from Lyons after 26 years of service as the Head Nurse of Building 56 in 1985.

 

She is survived by her children

Deborah E Lane, of Pittsburg, PA and her husband, Michael,

Theresa A. Hoey, of Puyallup, WA and her husband Edward,

Mark H. Erb of Toms River, NJ and his wife Jacqueline,

Brian J. Erb, also of Toms River, NJ and his wife Kristin,

Sandra M. Risoli, South Plainfield, NJ and her husband Joseph,

Her brother William Hanavan, Franklin Mass and his wife Marjorie, Her Grandchildren Brendan Lane, Shawn Hoey, Megan Erb, Jennifer Erb, Patrick Hoey, Katelynn Erb, Joseph Risoli, Jason Golda, Jessica Golda, and her Great-Grandchild Lily Mae Lane.

 

She was a member of the Middlesex Senior Citizen group, Our Lady of Mount Virgin Rosary Society, and Middlesex Library Reading Group.  She also donated her Nursing skills by volunteering at Adult Day Care Center, Bridgewater, NJ; Shared her love of reading by volunteering at Hazelwood Elementary School teaching children to overcome obstacles in their reading; And taught numerous people to Read and Speak English at the Middlesex Public Library.

 

She was a joy to those who knew her, and always tried her best to make the world a better place.

 

She will be sorely missed

 

Visiting hours will be held from 2-5 PM on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayers will be said 9 AM  on Monday, December 28, 2015  at the funeral home followed by a 10 AM Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church in Middlesex. Cremation will be private.

 

After 29 years, Joseph and Julia Erb - Together Again.
