Joy Kerekes

Joy Kerekes, 78, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Penn Medicine in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Born and raised in Rahway, New Jersey, Joy was the daughter of the late Harold and Bess Cohen. She graduated from Rahway High School in 1965 and continued her education at Monmouth College before entering the workforce. Joy later retired from Aveco in Morristown, New Jersey, where she worked for many years as a customer service representative. Joy retired in Sarasota, Florida where she enjoyed Siesta Key Beach, playing Mahjong and shows at the Van Wezel. In her spare time, Joy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. She found great happiness in the simple moments shared with those she loved most.

Joy leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband of more than 58 years, Laszlo Kerekes; her children, Beth Savaryn and her husband, Mark, Jodi Merizalde and her husband, Marco, and Jason Teodorczy and his wife, Anna; and her beloved grandchildren, Hunter, Tyler, Ashley, Marco Louis, Ella Rose, and Jordan Francis. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E. Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Doylestown Cemetery in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
