Ft. Mill, SC – Joseph “Sonny” Marshall, Jr., 86, passed away in Charlotte, NC on October 1, 2024. Joseph was known as “Sonny” to most. He was born in Newark, NJ to the late Joseph and Elsie Marshall. He was raised in Bradley Gardens and formerly resided in Raritan before moving to Ft. Mill, SC in 2009. Joseph worked many jobs throughout his lifetime, but he is mostly remembered for being a skilled carpenter at his own business “Sonny’s Maintenance” for most of his life and there was nothing he couldn’t fix or build. He was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Raritan, and a member of the Eagle’s Club in Bridgewater, NJ. He had a passion for riding motorcycles and belonged to the Hunterdon H.O.G. Chapter out of Williams Harley-Davidson in Lebanon, NJ. He also belonged to Dawn Patrol M.C. in Bradley Gardens, NJ. Upon moving to South Carolina, he was welcomed in to ride as a guest with the Sun City Motorcycle Club and was grateful for the opportunity to do so. Sonny also had a passion for automobiles and had more than we could count in his lifetime. His two granddaughters were undoubtedly his pride and joy.
Joseph is predeceased by his sister, Marion Wiegand.
