Middlesex- Joseph A. Ardito, 76, died peacefully at home with his family on Sunday, January 17, 2021. Son of the late Joseph and Giaele Ardito, Joe was born in Newark and lived in Linden before moving to Middlesex 34 years ago. Joe was a graduate of East Side High School in Newark and then went on to receive his B.S. in Physical Education at Southern Colorado State College. Joe had a fulfilling 37 year career teaching Physical Education at Piscataway High School retiring in 2006. Joe was a lifelong athlete and lover of all sports, playing football in college and then becoming a youth athletics coach for many years including football, wrestling, baseball, and girls softball. He genuinely loved all of his players like they were his own, taking great pride in their victories and giving a supportive word after a defeat. An avid NY Giants and Yankees fan, Joe loved attending games and rooting for his team. Joe will best be remembered for his warm hugs, belly laughs, and genuine love for his friends and family. In addition to his parents, Joe is predeceased by his brother Michael Ardito who died in 1992. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 44 years, Lorraine Ardito of Middlesex;  children, Joseph M. Ardito of Tampa, FL, and  Natalie M. Ardito of Woodbridge, NJ. Visiting hours will be held from 3-7 PM on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. A funeral mass will be offered 9:30 AM on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church, 600 Harris Avenue, Middlesex, NJ 08846.
