John W. Smith

Green Brook – John W. Smith, 51, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at his home in Green Brook. John was born in Fort Ord, CA and resided in Edison and Piscataway before moving to Green Brook in 2008.  John was a proud US Marine serving his country during Desert Storm. He was an IT technician, throughout his career working for various companies but most recently for Peggnet Computers where he was able to show his true skills throughout the Cranford School District, helping teachers and school administrators solve technical issues. John was a member of the Somerset Fish and Game Club, Easton Fish and Game Association and the NRA.  In his spare time, John was a survivalist.  John loved the great outdoors.  He loved to go shooting and loved to live freely of the land. John enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but nothing compared to spending time with his loving wife.  He will be greatly missed by friend and family.

John is predeceased by his sister, Diana Taylor, who passed in 2017.

 He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over 14 years, Carrieann Smith; brother, Michael Smith and his wife, Nancy; mother, Sandra Smith; sister-in-law, Kathy Plank and husband, Joseph; nieces and nephews, , Hoyt Smith, Avery Smith, Bryan DePew, Elysa Taylor, Ashley Taylor and Mark Taylor. Katelyn, Samantha and Tyler Plank and Logan Burns.

Visitation will be held from 6-9PM on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Funeral services will be held at 10AM, Friday, April 29, 2022 at the funeral home. Private cremation will follow.
