John B. Sciara
Hillsborough – John B. Sciara, 84, died peacefully on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at RWJ in Somerville with his son, Angelo and daughter-in-law, Ana by his side. John was born and raised in Italy before immigrating to the United States. Upon arrival, John first came to Newark where he settled with his wife, Maria Pia and started their family. In the early 1970’s John was a Deputy Sheriff serving his community. He was a furniture repairman for many years with Castleton in Bloomfield. John was a craftsmen in woodwork and took great pride in working with his customers. In his spare time, John enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards and the harmonica and he always had a good story to share, especially about the old days in Italy.
He is predeceased by his loving wife, Maria Pia Sciara.
John leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons, John Sciara, and Angelo Sciara and his wife, Ana, and 4 grandchildren Angelo, Santino, Christopher and Nicholas and siblings, Maria Sciara, Joe Sciara and Caroline Servis.
Visitation will be held from 9-10AM, Monday, February 8, 2021 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807 followed by funeral services at 10am. Burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
