Lawrenceville- John Portacio, 81, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at his home in Yorkshire Meadows. Son of the late Philip and Catherine Portacio. John was born in Brooklyn NY and lived there for most of his life before he moved to Ewing in 1985 and most recently, to Lawrenceville. John served in the US Air Force. He received his MBA from Long Island University in Brooklyn and worked for many years for Merril Lynch as a Information Systems Manager. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 63 years, Grace (Rodriguez) Portacio of Lawrenceville; children, Gregory Portacio of NY,NY, Veronica Bogan of Staten Island, NY, Paul Portacio and wife, Gladys of Green Brook, Andrew Portacio of St. Cloud, FL, Matthew Portacio of Queens, NY; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday, July 24, 2020 with a prayer service at 8PM. Burial will take place 10 AM Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Green-Wood Cemetery, 242 25th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11232 (everyone should meet by cemetery office).
