Somerset – John F. Murphy, 76, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at his home in Somerset, NJ. John was born and raised in Clifton, NJ and resided in  Bloomfield, West Paterson, Columbia, MD, before recently moving to Somerset. John was employed for Mazda for over 30 years, retiring in 2010. John was a car enthusiast with a very mechanical mind, he enjoyed rebuilding his vehicles’ motors and showing them at the Lead East car shows. He was an active resident of Canal Walk, participating in Bocce Ball and current Treasurer of the Italian American Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching football and traveling with his family especially to Aruba. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.

John is predeceased by his first wife, Patricia Murphy, second wife, Bonnie Eden-Murphy and granddaughter, Margaret Walling.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Barbara Berson; children, Philip Murphy, Donna Walling, and Joseph Murphy, and step-children, Jana Edinger, Lauren Bogiages, and Ben Bogiages, 10 grandchildren, and brother, Tom Murphy.

Visiting hours will be held from 3-7PM, on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E. Main St., Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
