Hillsborough – Jeanne (“Mooma”) P. Whitmore, 80, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023 with her family by her side at Robert Wood Johnson of Somerville. Jeanne was born in Elizabeth to the late Vincent and Dominica Stuckas. She resided in South Plainfield and Bridgewater for over 30 years before moving to Hillsborough a few years ago. She was the Director of Customer Service for the Gund Teddy Bear Company and an Analyst for Aon Insurance for many years before retiring in 2007. Jeanne was a loving and kind person who would volunteer for AA support groups, and substance abuse classes and loved spending time with her family and her cats, China and Willie.

She also enjoyed visiting Disney World with family, where she got to see her favorite Disney character, Goofy. As well as reading Steven King and James Patterson novels, doing crossword puzzles, and learning Chinese calligraphy. She took up a fascination with cows which lead to her grandchildren calling her “Mooma”. She spent much of her time with her grandchildren by taking them to the movies, spending time by her community pool, and taking them to get sweet treats.

She is predeceased by her siblings, Vincent Stuckas, and Stella Lambert.

Jeanne leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving children, Pamela Gara and husband, Lou, Barry O’Donnell and wife, Cindy, Amanda Sacks and Jeffrey O’Donnell and his wife Carol; grandchildren, Emma, Abby and Maya Gara, Samantha, Alexandra, and Veronika O’Donnell, Matthew, Nicholas, and Brianna Sacks, and Justin O’Donnell; and her sister, Marion Lasota and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held from 5-8PM, on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807 with a funeral service at 7:30PM.
