Jean G. Bellew

Jean G. Bellew, 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Avalon Assisted Living at Bridgewater.

Born in Bound Brook, NJ, Jean was the beloved daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Yannetelli. She lived in Bound Brook and Piscataway before making Bridgewater her home for the past 57 years. Jean was a proud graduate of Bound Brook High School, Class of 1950.

A devoted homemaker, Jean took great pride in creating a warm and welcoming home for her family. She was well known for her exceptional decorating skills and for her Saturday morning cleaning routine, always accompanied by her favorite radio station, 98.3 WMGQ. She loved searching for hidden treasures at estate sales and flea markets and had a passion for collecting antiques.

Jean found joy in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed reading, knitting scarves and hats for family and friends, and traveling throughout the United States and Europe with her beloved husband. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society and the Bridgewater Senior Citizens. Above all else, Jean treasured time spent with her family. Her greatest pride and joy were her cherished grandchildren, whom she loved deeply and spoke of often.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of many years, Edward F. Bellew, Sr., who passed away in 2015, and by her brother, Ned Yannetelli, who passed away in 2019.

Jean leaves behind her loving sons, Edward F. Bellew, Jr. of Bridgewater and Jeffrey Bellew and his wife, June, of Readington; and her cherished grandchildren, Justin A. Bellew and Abigail L. Bellew; brothers, Peter Yannetelli and Raymond Yannetelli, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the funeral home, followed by interment at Bound Brook Cemetery in Bound Brook, New Jersey.

The Bellew family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of Avalon Assisted Living at Bridgewater for the exceptional care, compassion, kindness, and dignity they showed Jean throughout her time there. Their unwavering support and genuine concern brought comfort not only to Jean but also to her family, and their kindness will always be remembered with sincere appreciation.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
