Jason VanCleef Obituary

Jason R. VanCleef, 56, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2026, in Raritan.

Born in New Brunswick, Jason was the beloved son of the late Ronald and Margaret VanCleef and remained a lifelong resident of Raritan. He attended Bridgewater-Raritan High School West.

Jason had a lifelong love of sports and the outdoors. A talented baseball player in high school, he was an MVP pitcher whose determination and competitive spirit earned the respect of teammates and coaches alike. He cherished the memories of family trips to Canada during his childhood, as well as the many hunting excursions he shared with his father. He also looked forward to annual fishing trips with his coworkers from Espos, creating friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime.

Jason worked for many years as a cook at Espos in Raritan while working as a laborer with the New Jersey Laborers Union. Whether at work or in his personal life, Jason had a gift for connecting with people. His easygoing nature, genuine kindness, and sense of humor allowed him to build lasting friendships with nearly everyone he met.

Jason is survived by his beloved sister, Rachael A. VanCleef, and her husband, Wayne Kaminski; his cherished niece, Violet; and his nephew, Ronald, all of whom brought him great pride and joy. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by many loved ones who welcomed him home.

Private burial services will be held at Restland Memorial Park.

Jason will be remembered for his warm heart, loyal friendship, love of family, and the countless lives he touched through his kindness. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
