Jason Souffront Obituary

Jason Evan Souffront, 36 of Piscataway NJ, passed away on September 3rd, 2025.

To know Jason was to be welcomed into a space of warmth, wisdom, and care.  He was one of the most humble, loving and compassionate people anyone could hope to meet, a man whose presence and smile left an imprint on countless lives.  With a keen ability to listen deeply and a heart open to everyone, he became, in the words of many who loved him, an unlicensed philosopher and therapist.  Friends and family often turned to him not just for advice, but for the comfort of his understanding, his patience, and his ability to make people feel truly seen.

Jason was more than his gift of wisdom – he was fearless and adventurous, never afraid to embrace life fully.  Whether trying something new, exploring the world, or simply diving into a challenge, he carried a boldness that inspired others.  His technological skills were incredible, and he was a phenomenal gamer where his adventurous spirit excelled.

At the center of everything, though, was his family.  He adored them deeply and showed that love in countless ways, big and small.  One of his proudest moments was recently becoming an uncle to Elliana.  He also cherished his friendships with the same devotion, especially his bond with his best friend, Chris Rodriguez, who was like a brother to him.

Jason’s life legacy came to him when he recognized that to leave a legacy is to leave a lasting imprint on the world through accomplishments and character.  All of which he has done and more.

He is survived by his loving mother, Barbara Souffront; father, Santos Souffront; sister, Lauren Ashley Souffront; and niece, Elliana Mattie Portnoy.  He is also survived by his grandparents; Teresa Sanchez, Antonia & Santos Souffront as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

He was predeceased by his grandfather, Manuel Rodriguez and brother-in-law, Matthew Portnoy.

Though his time with us was far too short, the legacy of his love, generosity, and fearless spirit will live on in all those whose lives he touched.  His spirit continues in every story told, every lesson remembered, and every act of kindness done in his honor.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Friday, September 12th, at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E.
