Janet R. Pelley of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on November 16, 1939, in Elizabeth, NJ, to the late Ed and Ruth Wilson, Janet grew up in Roselle Park and graduated from Roselle Park High School in 1957.
On December 27, 1958, she married the love of her life, William P. “Bill” Pelley of Linden, NJ, and together they shared a lifetime of love and devotion, raising five children: their late son David (1963–1985); Randy and his daughters, Eleanore and Bella; Kyle and his wife Debi, and their children Mandi and Joseph; Kristen Webb and her husband Chris, and their children Samantha and Parker; and Kimberly Pelley, who still lives at home.
Janet is also survived by her brother, Donald Wilson, and his wife, Bonnie, of Trophy Club, TX, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Janet devoted her life to caring for her family and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. She had a passion for travel—especially cruises—and treasured trips to Walt Disney World, especially with the grandkids. Her favorite travel companion was her cousin, Sally Redwitz, with whom she shared countless adventures across the oceans.
Janet worked in the travel industry for more than 30 years, most notably with Wanderlust Travel, where she helped many families create memories that lasted a lifetime.
A woman of deep faith, Janet was a longtime member of The Martinsville United Methodist Church and, more recently, The Whitehouse United Methodist Church.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Whitehouse United Methodist Church, 73 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888. A reception with refreshments will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church or the charity of your choice.
