Whiting, NJ – Irma C. Petilla, 87, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Community Hospital in Toms River, NJ. Irma was born in the Philippines and immigrated to the Unties States in 1972. Irma was a grade school teacher for many years in the Philippines before retiring. In her spare time, Irma loved going shopping and traveling to the beach. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 51 years, Antonio; sister, Lita Sonido and her husband, Danny, niece, Irene Librojo, and husband, Rey, and 4 great-nieces and nephews, Michelle, Christopher, Eric, and Abby Librojo; her favorite dog, Roman; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

With today’s COVID situation, the family is asking  that everyone test the morning of 2/21/2022 prior to attending Irma’s wake on Monday. We are in an unprecedented time and we are doing our best to ensure everyone’s health and safety, especially for the majority of the expected guests who are seniors and may have underlying medical conditions. If you could please text us to confirm your test result (or you can send a photo of the result), we can then provide assurance to those present that everyone present has been tested as a precautionary measure easing potential concerns. We really appreciate your understanding and thank you for your cooperation.

Services will be privately held on Monday, by the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807 with a live stream available, link to be provided day of service.
