Helen Jean Borrmann (Fellows), 96, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Laurel Circle in Bridgewater, NJ. She was born in Cleveland, OH and as a child of the Great Depression very much appreciated the value of family meals together.
During her youth, Helen moved with her family moved to a farm in upstate New York to stay with relatives, where Helen loved the farm and to be outdoors. She developed a soft spot for animals (her favorite pet as a child was a frog) and managed to pass that affection on to her children. A few years later, the family relocated to Queens, NY, where Helen enjoyed school and excelled at reading. She planned to attend college in New York City.
While on vacation in the Poconos with some girlfriends, Helen fell in love with World War II Navy veteran John Borrmann. John and Helen married and brought up their three children in Metuchen, NJ. She worked part-time as a bookkeeper, but her main emphasis was her family.
Helen had always loved to draw, and after retirement she began painting more seriously, creating beautiful landscapes using oils and watercolors. Helen never lost her love of new experiences and traveling. She even tried parasailing and pickle-ball in her 70s. She enjoyed many things including bridge, canasta, golf, Atlantic City, seashores, shuffleboard, knitting, and gardening. She loved life. Most of all she loved her family. She will be greatly missed.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, John and Edna (Baptiste) Fellows, her brother Jack, and her husband of 64 Years, John. She leaves her three children; her daughter Donna Miller and her husband Jeffrey of Eatontown, NJ, and her sons John and his wife Marta (Masucci) of Whiting, NJ, David and his wife Kathy (Stano) of Washington, NJ and as well as grandchildren John, Bill, Jennifer, Jessie, Michael, Zeke, and Laura, and great grandchildren Paige, Emma, Mattie, Lily, and Owen.
